Skeena Sawmill, its forestry and woodlands operations are located in British Columbia. The sawmill has a capacity of approximately 200 million board feet (471,947 m3) of annual lumber production. Skeena is one of the major sawmills in British Columbia, and selected PRODESA to Design, Manufacture and Supply a complete capacity wood pellet plant.  Total capacity of this pellet plant will be 96,000 ton/y using wood chips and shavings.

The client’s key point to make a decision was the specific design and the high performance of the Belt Dryer in extreme environmental conditions.  The selected dryer is a low temperature Belt Dryer producing 12 ton/h.  It uses hot air at 230ºF (110ºC) which comes from two natural gas burners (2x 5’5 MW) for the drying process.

MAIN BENEFITS of this dryer are low energy consumption, low level emissions, use of low temperature energy, and automated operation with careful drying for optimal quality.
